Working 9 to 5 is the norm for many these days and it’s no mean feat. So we ask, what do you do in your spare time?
A Book Club
If you’re social and a voracious reader then you may enjoy setting up your own book club. As long as you’re willing to host or organise an online group, you will be able to set this up. Even WhatsApp and Facebook groups can be used for those that want to host a virtual book club.
Throughout the week, this can be a good motivation to take time to read a bit before bed. There are so many brilliant books out there that you can use as a starting point for your club. You can set up how much your members must read each week, which can be as little as a chapter or a few pages depending on your free time.
For those that enjoy making things for themselves, have a look at etsy.com for some inspiration. You don’t always need massive amounts of materials to do so, just a few items can go a long way. There are lots of online tutorials that you can use to introduce you to different projects.
Pinterest can also be helpful if you want to see some popular creations. These can act as an inspiration for you to create something of your own!
Online gaming can be a fun pastime in moderation, particularly if you’re playing strategy games on ‘live’ platforms where you can speak to each other. As you’ll have seen advertised on the TV, there are loads of sites offering online slot games which may be of interest if you fancy a quick flutter. Far better than a game on the playstation or a spin at the casino (in our opinion) are board games. Why not break out the Monopoly game and make it a night to remember!
Health and Fitness
Adding a walk or a run to your daily schedule can make a massive difference to how you look and also how you feel. Being active and healthy can sometimes fall by the wayside when we’re busy but marking a time for it in your day is a good idea.
Treat yourself to a gym membership, one with a spa can also give you some added incentive to visit. That way, you can get your daily dose of exercise come rain or shine. This will help to keep you on track and improve your general health too.
Whether you feel more drawn to art, music or even writing, there are a variety of hobbies under this umbrella. You don’t need to have lots of natural talent to enjoy them and the more you practice, the better you will get. Some instruments don’t cost very much, like ukuleles and other beginners instruments, so there’s not a massive investment required.
Again, you can head to YouTube for hours of step by step tutorials to teach you exactly how to get started with these hobbies. These are free and can fit around whenever you have some time to practice.
Making the most of your free time is important, no matter what kind of job you are employed in. This will help you to enjoy things more and have a sense of achievement to boot.
